Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi Arrival and transfer to the hotel for tour briefing. |
Day 2: Hanoi - Mai Chau Heading to Hoa Binh province, passing through a region of spectacular Limestone Mountains then spend the day to explore local villages of Thai minority people, enjoying their hospitality, spicy rice wine and experience a great night in a villager's house. |
Day 3: Mai Chau - Son La Continue driving to Son La, the home of many ethnic minorities, including Thai, Muong, Tay, and Dzao. Passing Yen Chau, a famous area of orchard fruits. In the town of Son La, there's French prison built in 1908 to confine Communist Fighters. |
Day 4: Son La - Dien Bien Phu We enjoy a driving day to the deep North and finally arrive in Dien Bien Phu, big name throughout the world for the final battle against the French in 1954. We also visit the head quarters of the French commander (Colonel Christian de Castries). |
Day 5: Dien Bien Phu - Lai Chau We travel toward the East, arrive in Lai Chau and enjoy the superb view of Hoang Lien Mountain range. There's a chance to encounter the regional H'mong and Nhang minority groups, as we stay overnight in a town surrounded by beautiful scenery. |
Day 6: Lai Chau - Sapa Leaving Lai Chau, we drive up the narrow mountain road to the town of Sapa, established by the French in 1922. The rest of the day is spent for wandering through the distinctive minority market, looking at the beautiful handcrafted clothes sold by the hill tribe people. |
Day 7: Sapa Today we trek deeper into the mountains to explore the way of life of the Red Dzao people in Ta Phin hamlet. We tour their villages and traditional houses nestled amongst un-spoilt nature as well as enjoying the hill tribe hospitality before we return to the town. |
Day 8: Sapa - Bac Ha Leaving Sapa in the morning, we drive to Bac Ha, located on the eastern side of Hoang Lien Mountain range. We pass many forests of plum trees before arrive the town, famous for its market held on every Sunday with a presence of different ethnic groups in the region. |
Day 9: Bac Ha - Hanoi We return to Hanoi, stopping along the way to see more hill tribes' villages and beautiful scenery of the North, walking amongst tea plantations and palm forests alternated with terraced rice fields, back in Hanoi in late afternoon. |
Day 10: Departure from Hanoi Transfer to airport / or departure for next destination |
